"% Search" is not working for search fields

SA-31943

Summary

User noticed that when they are using the "%" symbol for searching and fetching available data, using Report Definition (RD) as a data source it not working properly.

This was working perfectly in PRPC 6.3 SP1 but stopped working in Pega 7.2.1.

Error Messages

Not applicable

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a RD and give a filter criteria (say ID) with relationship as "starts with".
2. At runtime, give the filter and observe. The results are not getting populated.

Root Cause

Currently in Pega 7.1 versions, Pega started supporting the properties(Prop1) containing values with “%”(character) and one can filter out those properties by having a filter in report definition like Prop1 starts with “%” , so in the query it is escaping the “%” character.

This feature was not there in PRPC 6.3 SP1 and the use case of producing all the results can achieved by passing “” character in search field (in this use-case).

Resolution

Perform the following local-change:

Passing “” character in search field instead of "%" to the report will produce all the results.
