Selected value in dropdown resets to placehoder in Edge browser

Summary
In Microsoft Edge 41.16299.665.0 browser, any value selected in a dropdown is reset to placeholder. Additionally, for a dropdown with required validation, after the selection is made, the dropdown is reset and initiates a validation message.

Steps to Reproduce
- Add a dropdown field and provide datapage as the source.
- Select the 'Include placeholder' option.
- Check the 'Select' field value.
- For load behavior, select 'After screen renders'.
- Check 'Enable caching of options' checkbox.
- In the Actions tab, select Change event and set the 'Refresh-This section' as action. Do not provide any activity or data transform.
- Save the section rule and open the Preview.
- Select any value. The value is reset to Select.
Root Cause
A third-party product issue.
