Setting widths on controls using % instead of pixels

SA-264

Summary

Setting a width on a date control using the property panel has undesirable and unintended results when using percentage widths. The value is applied in 2 places so when 50% is set in the design, the final result is actually 25% (50% of 50%).

Error Messages

None

Steps to Reproduce

Create a percentage width dynamic layout

Drag in a text input

Drag in a date input

Set date control to be 50%

View in end user portal - date field will be 25% of the width of text input (view source to confim)

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is a defect in Pegasystems’ code/rules. The width input value was being applied twice, once in a <div> and again in a <span>.  It has been removed from the <div>.

Resolution

This issue is scheduled to be resolved in release Pega 7.1.6.
