Slow application performance on QA node

SA-31367

Summary

QA Users are reporting slow performance during testing of application changes.

Error Messages

Not applicable.

Steps to Reproduce

Now applicable.

Root Cause

A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment.  Two issues contributed:

  1. The test accounts (OperatorID records) were set to "Allow rule checkout", which causes additonal use of RuleSet lists and private caches for each user.
  2.  Database defect which causes queries to run non-optimally when index values exceed 32 characters.

Resolution

  1. Make the following change to the operating environment:

Update OperatorID records to un-check "Allow Rule Checkout".

  2.  Update database configuration to remove the collection of histogram data for two columns on table pr_sys_appcache_shortcut (columns pzEntryKey and pzCacheConfigID).
