SMS Export takes hours to complete for large volume campaign



For large volume campaigns(>2 million), the data takes excessive time to move from staging to Template table. We also saw DB alerts and had to truncate staging table for this to move successfully.

Steps to Reproduce

Enable the OutboundMaster agent.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules. The number of threads configured in the topology landing page is being ignored and threads are defaulting to 2. Also, the template table should use an insert statement rather than a merge statement, as insert is faster. These are both fixed in Pega Marketing 7.22 already, so the changes were backported to 7.21.
