SMTP with SSL configuration for outgoing mail does not work

Summary



Unable to configure SMTP on SSL for outgoing mails.

Error Messages

javax.mail.MessagingException: Can't send command to SMTP host;

Root Cause



Trust store of the application server must be populated to accept the SMTP server's security certificate or disable STARTTLS on the desired SMTP endpoint to make Pega application server's trust store work correctly with STARTTLS-enabled email infrastructure.

Resolution



STARTTLS support can be disabled within PRPC. Store True value in a dynamic system setting record with keys given below:
Owning Ruleset: Pega-IntSvcs
Setting Purpose: Email/DisableSecuritySTARTTLS
