Special character from rich text editor
SA-21201
Summary
When user copies data from Word and puts it in rich text editor, it starts to show all special characters (mark up) after save operation and refer the field on section.
Error Messages
Not Applicable.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a property of type text.
- Create a section and have rich text editor to refer the property.
- Copy some data from word and input it in this rich text editor field and save it.
- Later when this property is rendered via plain Text Input control mark up is seen along with original content.
Root Cause
This is an expected behavior. The content entered into Rich text editor control is rich text (text, images, links etc), these details are maintained through necessary mark up.
When such content, entered through rich text editor, and rendered via Text Input control, user is bound to see markup.
Resolution
Rich Text Editor control is to be used rather than plain Text Input control to render content properly without any special characters.
