Summary

The spell check function doesn't work in Chrome or Firefox. The text area is replaced with a yellow background and incorrectly spelled words are not highlighted.

Steps to Reproduce

Add spellcheck to screen, open portal in FireFox or Chrome, enter invald word, click spellcheck icon.

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is that there is a technical limitation to the Text Area control and it must use an old version of spell check that is not supported on browsers other than IE.

Resolution

The explanation for this behavior is that spell check is not supported cross-browser for Text Areas because of a limitation in the Text Area control. However, spell check should work cross-browser if you instead use a Rich Text Editor control.
