Stages Chevron getting lost when Navigating to previous Stage

When navigating to a Previous stage, the Case Stage chevrons in pxDisplayStages or pyDisplayStages are not displayed.

As shown in the below example, the case in Stage 2 displays the pyDisplayStages section, but on clicking the Stage 1 button (configured to change the stage to Stage 1) the stage display is not rendered.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

Change stages using the pxChangeStage activity in an application that does not use the UI Kit.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.

This behaviour only impacts applications that are using the base version of the pyDisplayStages section and does not occur for applications that are using the UI Kit, as the configuration has been updated in the UI Kit ruleset versions of this section. The UI Kit is included in any new application by default but can be removed if it is not required as was the case in this application as the styling was heavily customised from the standard Pega 7.

Include the UI Kit ruleset in the application rule, or if the UI Kit is not desired the following local change can be implemented.

Save a copy of pyDisplayStages into your application ruleset and make the following changes:

Change the Source from “Property” to “Data Page”
  1. Specify “D_CaseStages” as the Data Page
  2. Specify “.pzInsKey” as the InsHandle parameter.
