SuppressForegroundWindows property does not work

Robotic Desktop Automation (RDA) BOT works on the below applications:
  • Amisys: This is a web application. The BOT launches and closes 4-5 screens in Amisys to extract data for every transaction using the web Adapter.
  • Macess: This is a Windows application. The BOT launches a child form and copies the above data on it for every transaction using the Windows Adapter.
Though the 'SuppressForegroundWindows' property of both the adapters is set to 'True', the child windows launched from both Amisys and Macess are launched in the foreground (on the top) and are in focus. This in disrupts the user's activity.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Set the SuppressForegroundWindows to true.
  2. Run the automation.

Root Cause

An issue in the custom application code or rules.

Here's the explanation for the reported behavior:

Amisys is a web application. It opens windows which are modal dialog windows. By design, the modal dialog windows belong to the Desktop window and not to the Internet Explorer window or the document. Therefore, SuppressForeground property does not work.
