Switching to 'Other Actions' triggers required field validation

Summary



When user tries to switch to a different flow action using the 'Other Actions' menu, system fires required validations which is not an expected behavior.

Steps to Reproduce



1. Open Address Change intent task in CPM Interaction portal.
2. Attempt to switch to Cancel this work flow action using Other Actions menu.


Root Cause



The root cause of this problem is a defect in Pegasystems’ code/rules. Issue is a bug in Pega 7.1.8 which manifested post installation of a CPM accessibility HFix-22405.
The processActionDefault API does not have a check for empty actionSection variable which is the reason validation is fired while changing from one flow action to other flow actions.

Resolution



This issue is resolved by HFix-23246.
