Syslocks defragmentation not working

SA-37204

Summary

A systems administrator has configured the DefragSysLocksDaemon to automagically defragment the PR_SYS_LOCKS table in the Process Commander Environment. The systems admin is attempting to verify correct operation.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

Per online documentation, the DefragSysLocksDaemon is a tunable Process Commander Daemon that defragments the standard table PR_SYS_LOCKS. The Dynamic System Setting tuneable parameters are:

syslocks/defragEnabled - true
syslocks/defragIntervalInHours - 24
syslocks/defragHourOfDay - 1
syslocks/defragIntervalType – DAILY

To reproduce the operation of the daemon, tune these parameters to elicit the execution of the daemon periodically.

Root Cause

As a result of observation and monitoring the Pega Log, the correct operation of the daemon was confirmed.

Resolution

Advised systems administrator to use the following Dynamic System Settings as a result of observations from the log:

syslocks/defragEnabled - true
syslocks/defragIntervalInHours - 2
syslocks/defragHourOfDay - 1
syslocks/defragIntervalType – HOURLY
