Steps to Reproduce

Not Applicable

Root Cause

A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment.

Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:

Observed the error '
java.sql.SQLRecoverableException: ORA-01089: immediate shutdown in progress - no operations are permitted' right before the system hung.

This normally means that a DBA is running 'shutdown immediate' command for the Oracle instance.

That suggests a potential reason for the current incidence of the system hung.

For future system hung incidences, user is suggested to generate thread dumps and send them to Pega GCS before recycling the server.
