System fails to restart

SA-343

Summary



A null-pointer exception was thrown when trying to map withdrawn classes in Pega 7.1.3. The system failed on restarting the Java Virtual Machine (JVM).

Error Messages



Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException
at com.pega.pegarules.data.internal.dictionary.ClassMapImpl.fillInKeyAndLockInfo(ClassMapImpl.java:6275)
at com.pega.pegarules.data.internal.dictionary.ClassMapImpl.addClassToTree(ClassMapImpl.java:6180)
at com.pega.pegarules.data.internal.dictionary.ClassMapImpl.calculateClassMap(ClassMapImpl.java:3988)

Steps to Reproduce



Withdraw a class, and attempt to restart the system.

Root Cause



The root cause of this problem is a defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules. 

Resolution



This issue is resolved in Pega 7.1.7.
