Summary



System running out of memory when starting up due to PermGen issues.

Error Messages



2014-09-22 20:54:46,206 [   PegaRULES-Batch-2] [  STANDARD] [                    ] [lComplaints:03.06.01] (ernal.async.BatchRequestorTask) ERROR   - Batch activity "AEXP-FW-GC-Work.WrapperUpdateGCCase" threw:

java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space

Root Cause



Reviewing ALERTS which suggested the max perm size is very low

Resolution



set a higher max perm size say –XX:MaxPermSize=384m and recycle JVM’s
