Test Connectivity with IE fails on Connect-SQL for RDB-List
SA-69996
Summary
Test Connectivity fails when the Connect-SQL rule is set to invoke a stored procedure with RDB-List and when the list of parameters is large. This occurs when using the Internet Explorer browser.
Error Messages
Status fail
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a Connect-SQL rule using the Internet Explorer browser.
- In the Browse tab, invoke an SQL function which has a large list of parameters (for example, 29).
- Save the rule.
- Click the Test Connectivity button.
Root Cause
Test Connectivity button in Connect-SQL ruleform was configured for the 'Open URL in new window' control.
Due to limitation in the Internet Explorer browser on the number of characters in a GET call URL, the URL was truncated beyond 2083 characters.
For more information, refer to the Microsoft Support article 'Maximum URL length is 2,083 characters in Internet Explorer'.
Resolution
An enhancement request, FDBK-29335, is created for consideration by Pega Product Management.
