Text Area control not collapsible in read-only mode



The collapsible icon is not visible for the read-only Text Area control post upgrading to Pega 7.2.2. The Expand or the Collapse functionality is observed in the editable mode but not in the read-only mode.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Configure the text area with the expand or collapse functionality.
  2. Enter the data in the editable mode.
  3. Display the form in the read-only mode.

Root Cause

This behavior is as per Pega product design. All auto-generated controls are rendered as plain text in the read-only mode.


Perform the following local-change:

Use the option of displaying only a few lines with vertical scroll bar to view the remaining text.

1. Create a new style for Text Inputs & Formatted Text.

2. Add this style to the Text Area control.

3. On running the flow:
