Timeout error occurs on selecting a date range in custom filter

Summary



Timeout error occurs on selecting a date range, that is more than one day, in the custom filter in a report definition. Error occurs despite exposing all the columns and indexing the properties used in the filter.


Error Messages



com.pega.pegarules.pub.database.DatabaseException: There was a problem getting a list: code: 0 SQLState: HY008 Message: The query has timed out.
DatabaseException caused by prior exception: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: The query has timed out.

Root Cause



A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.


Resolution

  1. Apply HFix-40408.
  2. Create a new Data-Admin-System-Setting (DASS) with the name, 'reporting/useForceOrderHintForRRandAC' in the Pega-RULES ruleset.
  3. Set the value as true.
