Tree Grid rows become non-editable with Pega 7.1.8

Tree Grid rows are non-editable when double-clicked on newly added rows.

Error Messages

Not Applicable.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a TreeGrid with source as Pagelist (Pagelist is a reference property). The edit mode of the Tree Grid is MasterDetails-modaldialog.
  2. Click on Add Child.
  3. Opens a modal window, fill up all the data.
  4. Submit the screen.

The new row that is added can not be opened anymore, the newly added row is frozen.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules. The parent or child page of pagelist(source of Tree-Grid) is a reference property.

Now when user tries to add a child via modal, the modal itself is launched in the referred page context.

So basically it is adding new row to referred page instead of the referring page. This also seems to be an expected behaviour for the reference property configuration.

Perform the following local-change:

Configure Refresh List action after Add child action. This will fix the issue with reference handle corruption.
Along with that setting the pyExpanded property of the parent page will keep the parent row expanded even after refresh.
