Unable to display the date property in reports



Unable to display date in the reports, for a property that is defined as “Date” using time interval.

Error Messages

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a date property.
2. Open and edit a report.
3. Add the date property to the report and select time interval to be displayed as "day."

An error message displays after adding the property to report.

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is defect or misconfiguration in the PRPC operating environment.

PRPC Date properties are meant to be DDMMYYYY format. Hence Pega help recommends mapping them to VARCHAR(8) column,

If mapping to Date column type in Oracle database, which contains a different format (for eg: 01/JAN/15) only the first 8 characters are mapped to the Date type (eg: 01/JAN/1). This becomes an invalid Date in this case.


The explanation for this behavior is as follows: 

There are two ways to solve the issue:

Use DateTime properties mapped to Date columns in Oracle database.
Use VARCHAR (8) Oracle database column  to map to Date properties.
