Unable to edit KM Content



In a Pega CS 7.2.2 on Pega 7.2.2 application, there are scenarios where the Pega Knowledge Content can not be edited.

The content remains in a un-editable state permanently. It looks like the status of the content item remains in the 'Pending-Publish' even after the 'Close' button is clicked. The issue can be replicated if an operator doesn't publish the content after editing, but clicks on 'Close' button instead.

Error Messages

The content is already in edit mode.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open KC content.
2. Use Edit button to edit KC content. Observe that it is Pending-Publish state.
3. Close content without publication.
4. Reopen the same content.
5. Select Edit again.

Root Cause

This is working as designed. Lets say an author is editing his content and saved it. The draft will be in the author's worklist. To stop other authors to edit the content and cause loss of the draft created by the original author, a secure mechanism must be in place to prevent this to occur.


Open the content from the Worklist.
