Unable to open the harness pop up window the second time



Unable to open the harness pop up window the second time. This occurs when using the Internet Explorer browser.

Error Messages

Not Applicable.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open the portal and create a work object
  2. Click the icon configured to open a harness in a pop up window
  3. Minimize the first pop up window
  4. Close the work object and re-open the same work object
  5. Click on the icon a second time

Root Cause

The window.opener is updated incorrectly in the Internet Explorer browser.


Perform the below local-change:

  1. 'Save as' the UserWorkForm rule to the application rule set
  2. Add the following script in the UserWorkForm rule:

window.customOpen =; = function(){
var winObj = customOpen.apply(window,arguments);
winObj.opener = window;
return winObj;
