Unable to open rules circumstanced with As of Date property

SA-29505

Summary

After upgrading from Pega 7.1.7 to Pega 7.2.1, errors are thrown when opening or re-saving rules which are circumstanced using an "As of Date" property. These rules are also not available for rule resolution.

Error Messages

“Encountered more than one Circumstance Date Property when opening Rule Rule-Obj-Validate <ClassName>!<RuleName>: .pxCreateDateTime and”

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open a rule in Pega 7.2.1 which was circumstanced in Pega 7.1.7 using an "As of Date" property.
  2. Re-save a rule in Pega 7.2.1 which was circumstanced in Pega 7.1.7 using an "As of Date" property.
  3. Try referring to this rule from any other rule.

Root Cause

There was a redesign of the circumstancing functionality in Pega 7.2.1. The "As of Date" property and start and end date fields are merged to provide the date range functionality.

Resolution

Perform the following local-change:

Save or create those rules with a similar name (identifier) but different date property, which was not used for circumstance previously.
