Unable to save data to parent case when using Optimistic locking

Summary



Users observe that they are unable to save data to a parent case updates when using Optimistic locking.

Error Messages



Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Specify Optimistic locking for a certain parent and sub case type.
  2. Attempt to copy data from the sub case to parent case and perform a submit.


Root Cause



In case of Optimistic locking of the Sub case does not create a lock over the parent case. So the changes intended are not persisted.

Resolution



Perform the following local-change:

If the design requirements require both optimistic locking and the propagation of information to the parent, the locking of the parent case must be handled manually.
