Unable to save Property rule after increasing max length



In the user's application for the pyStatuswork property, the maximum length is set to 32. Error occurs on increasing the maximum length value to 64 and saving the property.

Error Messages

Too long message issue while closing status.(242290)

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open the pyStatuswork property.
  2. Save As this property in the user layer.
  3. Modify the maximum length from 32 to 64 in the Advanced tab of the Property rule.
  4. Save the property.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.


Perform the following local-change:
  1. Remove 32 from maximum length field of property 'pyStatusWork'.
  2. Save and Check in.
  3. Check out and save with the maximum length set to 64.
