Unable to Start Node, NoClassDefFoundError

Summary



After installing application RAP files, administrators became unable to start server as a NoClassDefFoundError is thrown.
 

Error Messages

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/pega/apache/log4j/spi/ThrowableInformation


Steps to Reproduce



Start Node


Root Cause



A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment. This may be caused by an intermittent problem reading from the database during exception processing

Resolution



Perform the following local-change: Add the following setting to prconfig.xml to pre-load the offending class:

<env name="initialization/preloadengineclasses" value="com.pega.apache.log4j.spi.ThrowableInformation" />
