Unable to Successfully use pyArgs when running BIX via an Agent

In a Pega 7.1.9 environment using BIX, it is not clear how to pass command-line parameters to the pxExtractDataWithArgs activity. Developers have been unable to successfully configure this to work.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create extract rule.
  2. Create agent to call pxExtractDataWithArgs.
  3. Try to pass command-line parameters.

Root Cause

A software use or operation error caused this issue. The parameters were not being passed correctly.

The command-line parameters are entered like how you would give arguments to any command on the shell. For example, using the following arguments will allow you to extract all instances with a pxUpdateDateTime between the specified dates:

-u 20150101T010100.000 -U 20160201T010100.000

Command-line parameters -i, -a, -p, -T and -P are not supported when running BIX via the pxExtractDataWithArgs activity.
