Unable to update thread count in the Topology landing page

In Pega 7.3.1, unable to update the thread count in the Topology landing page.

The agent/threadpoolsize and services/maxrequestorchildren are configured in prconfig.xml file. However, the maximum. thread count on the Thread dropdown on the Topology landing page is 10.

The entries for  Dynamic System Settings (DSS) and prconfig.xml entries are as below:

Owning Ruleset: Pega-Engine, Purpose: prconfig/services/maxrequestorchildren/default , Value: 250
Owning Ruleset: Pega-Engine, Purpose: prconfig/agent/threadpoolsize/default, Value: 250

As prconfig.xml:

<env name="agent/threadpoolsize" value="250" />
<env name="services/maxrequestorchildren" value="250" />

The below line in pzLoadNumberOfThreadsPerNodeInTopology activity returns -1 in Pega 7.3.1.

int NoOfThreads = com.pega.decision.dsm.util.TopologyUtils.getNodeLevelMinOfMaxRequestorChildrenVsThreadPoolSize(NodeName);

The SendEmailsInBulkMaster activity present in PegaMKT-Engine ruleset searches for the thread count (.pyNumberOfThreads) configuration on the Topology landing page. Therefore, unable to set a higher thread count for use in the activity.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Add the below two entries in prconfig.xml file:

    <env name="agent/threadpoolsize" value="250" />
    <env name="services/maxrequestorchildren" value="250" />

  2. Navigate to Designer Studio > Decisioning >Infrastructure > Simulation Settings > Topology landing page.
  3. Select the Thread dropdown. The dropdown does not reflect the updated thread count in Pega 7.3.1. However, this works in Pega 7.2.2 and earlier releases.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.
The Topology landing page has been retired from Pega 7.2.1. However, the SendEmailsInBulkMaster activity was using the Thread count (pyNumberOfThreads) value set in the Topology landing page.

Apply HFix-46330.
