Unsupported browser error with Pega 7 and IE 11

Summary
When accessing the Pega login screen using MS Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11), Pega indicates that the browser is unsupported.
Error Messages
"You're using an unsupported browser.
Pega 7 uses the latest web technology and your browser doesn't support those technoloiges.
Please update to Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Internet Explorer (9 or greater)."
Steps to Reproduce
Access the Pega login page.
Root Cause
IE 11 is in Compatibility or Emulation mode.
Resolution
Pega 7 is designed to work with IE11 native display mode and take advantage of HTML5 object display. Ensure that IE11 is NOT in Compatibility mode, and is not set to emulate legacy versions of IE.
