Unwanted error message and appends

SA-8935

Summary

Users have textboxes which are being validated as positive decimals. When a validation message has been displayed, altering the value in the control appends a new value to the control.

Unwanted behavior:

-Inconsistent refreshing on change depending on whether a positive decimal is entered or not
-The section refresh caused by entering a positive value in one field altering in any way the error message displayed on another field
-The loss or appendage to an error message when the containing section is refreshed

Error Messages

PropertyInfo-EditValidate error message (completely unwanted): Invalid value specified for {1}. Value doesn't adhere to the Validate: {2}
isPosDecimal Regular error message: Invalid input - reenter a decimal number greater than 0
Decimal property validation error message: {1} is not a valid decimal value

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Set up case with three text boxes in the section.
  2. Enter a non-decimal value into the first field.
  3. Enter a negative decimal value into the second field.
  4. Enter a positive decimal value into the third field.
  5. Change either first or second field to another negative or non-decimal value, or just click on and off either field.

Root Cause

When refresh section is configured, error messages get appended to existing string.

Resolution

Removing refresh section configuration helps resolving the issue.
