Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open a case.
  2. Complete an assignment that leads to a utility which is configured to send a confirmation mail.

Root Cause

An issue in the custom application code or rules.
The issue occurs because the email server failed to respond on time. The email timeout used in the SendEmailMessage function was set to (600 (.6s)), which did not allow ample time for the email server to respond.

Perform the following local-change:

Set the Dynamic System Setting (DSS) email/timeout to the default value (60000 (60s)).
