Validation error does not display in a ScreenFlow

SA-89761

Summary

In a ScreenFlow, when a user submits a task, the Validation error generated by the Validation rule (configured in flow action) does not display. The error displays only when the user refreshes the screen. The error must display on the screen immediately after submit.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a case type.
  2. Create a ScreenFlow (with two steps).
  3. Invoke the ScreenFlow from the case type (first stage, first process). The harness used in the ScreenFlow is TabbedScreenFlow7.
  4. In the ScreenFlow, at the first step, attach a flow action with a simple Validation rule. This displays an error message always.
  5. Execute the case.
  6. Submit the first step of the ScreenFlow. Error does not display. However, on the Clipboard, the error is present on the pyWorkPage.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.

Resolution

Perform the following local-change:
  1. Save As the 'TabbedScreenFlow' harness in the layer.
  2. Modify the below configurations:

In the 'Display options' tab select 'In configurable section' option in the 'Form-level errors' field.
Refer the 'pyCaseErrorSection' screen in 'Custom error section' field.
