Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create expandable grid with editable fields in the row.
  2. Fill editable fields with some values.
  3. Click on "Save" button in an expanded pane.
  4. Notice that all field values in the row disappear.

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is software use/operation error as when you force the grid row to be editable and have master-details option set for the rest of the data for this row, you must take care about posting the value upon change for each editable field.

Resolution

The explanation for this behavior is as follows:
When you have master-details option for the Grid set and you force the fields in the collapsed grid row to be editable (on Presentation TAB of the control you set Editable to Always) you must also add onChange event handler with Post Value option. Also, you must not have the same field in expandable section as this will take over the editable field in the row itself.
