In Visio, Flow is not editable.

After an application was ported from an earlier PRPC version into version 6.1 SP1, some flows cannot be edited using Visio 2007.

On edit, the Visio application is launched and the flow diagram becomes visible, but PRPC macrocode does not start running. As a result:

- Visio initialization does not occur

- The shapes properties panel (top left corner) does not show up.

- The smart shapes stencil does not get displayed

- After waiting for an INIT_OK message from Visio for 60 seconds, the flow form raises error "
There was a problem switching to 'Flow-Edit' mode. Restore the 'Form View' mode"

- Changes made to the diagram in Visio do not get reflected in the rulebase.

Error Messages

There was a problem switching to 'Flow-Edit' mode. Restore the 'Form View' mode.

Root Cause

Node pyVisioDocVersion in the flow rule XML has value of 6 – internal version assigned by Microsoft to Visio 2000. This means that Visio 2000 was used to last edit the “problem” flows in the original application before port.
Visio 2000 format is not fully compatible with the currently used by the developer Visio 2007

Saving the "problem" flow into a higher level ruleset resolves the issue.
