When Max tab is reached the first tab is replaced with new tab



When opening the 17th Tab on the Customer Service portal, the first tab (not the Home Tab) is replaced by a new tab without an alert message.

The total number of tabs (that is, 16) is inclusive of the Home Tab.

Steps to Reproduce

Launch the Customer Service portal and launch 17 tabs. While opening the 17th tab, the 1st tab is replaced with a new tab.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.
Maximum tab reached warning message is not handled.


1. Apply HFix-37597.
2. Update the below code in the cpm-overrides CSS file.

display:none !important;

Note: Tabs count is counted depending on the number of threads that are open.

For example, if an Interaction case has two Service cases, then the system considers that three tabs are open (one Interaction and two Service case).

Also, Bulk action and reports are open in the Home tab. In this case, the count is two (the Home tab and the open thread on the Home tab).
