Word Merge fails to launch with Word 2016

Summary



When attempting to merge a Word document on Pega 7.1.7, Customer Service (CS) 7.1.3, and using Microsoft Office 2016 on Windows 10 with Internet Explorer 11 an error is observed.


Error Messages



"SilverLight Control ERROR in 'sGetWordMacroDotPath': Microsoft Word version '16.0' is not supported"


Steps to Reproduce



Attempt to merge a Word document on Pega 7.1.7, CS 7.1.3, and using MS Office 2016 on Windows 10 with Internet Explorer 11.


Root Cause



Pega does a check on Word Version before generating the document. Need to lift the validation.

Resolution



Apply HFix-29972.
