Word merge fails to launch with Word 2016

Summary



The user workstations have MS Word 2016 installed. When users attempt to utilize Silverlight control based Word merge functionality, Word launch fails with error "Microsoft Word version 2016 is not supported.

HFix-28498 and HFix-29972 are available for this purpose.

Above 2 mentioned hotfix are for 7.1.8 and 7.1.9, but user needs hotfix for 7.2.1. 


Error Messages


"SilverLight Control ERROR in 'sGetWordMacroDotPath': Microsoft Word version '16.0' is not supported"


Steps to Reproduce



Use Silverlight based Word merge with mircosoft word 2016 installed on the workstation.


Root Cause



A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.

Resolution



Apply HFix-30616.
