Summary

Work objects open in Pop up window rather than opening inside main PRPC Portal window

Error Messages

Work item is openeing in new window instead of work tab.

Steps to Reproduce

In a non PRPC application, configure a PRPC URL (you can do this through Snap Start). Click on PRPC link and launch the User/Manager Portal
While the main window (non PRPC window) still opened, inside the PRPC window, launch a POP up window that has a List View.
Click on a List View Row, work object will be opened in a new tab on the main PRPC window. This is working as expected.

Repeat the above step, but with the non PRPC window closed. You will notice that, work object does NOT open inside the main PRPC window, but, opens in a Pop up window.

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is a defect in Pegasystems’ code/rules. Issue is with Out of the Box JS rule PEGA_DESKTOP_SUPPORT.JS.
Current code loses the Parent window context when you close the parent window.

Resolution

This issue is resolved by hotfix item HFix-10132
