WrongModeException on DataSet.Execute with partition key

Summary



When calling DataSet.Execute on a DataSet configured with a partition key, the system throws a WrongModeException exception.


Error Messages



com.pega.pegarules.pub.clipboard.WrongModeException: The property pyWorkPage.pxCreateSystemID was of mode String while com.pega.pegarules.data.internal.clipboard.ClipboardPropertyImpl.getObjectValue() was expecting Java Object mode. Details: (none)


Steps to Reproduce



1. Configure a DataSet with a partition key
2. Attempt to "save" a record by calling DataSet.Execute
3. Observe the system throws a WrongModeException error stating that it expects a Java Object instead of a string
4. If the user attempts to use a DataSet with no partition key, it throws a NullPointerException


Root Cause



A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.
