An attachment type is a shorter name that identifies a data class that holds work object attachments.
As initially installed, Process Commander includes five attachment types, corresponding to five subclasses of the Data-WorkAttach- class:
Don't confuse the attachment type, which determines the media and format, with attachment categories, which can describe the purpose or contents of an attachment in business terms. Using attachment category rules, you can restrict access to attachments based on privileges, when conditions, and attachment types.
When Process Commander is first installed, each of the five standard attachment types is supported by a corresponding attachment category. For example, the ScanDocument type is supported by the ScannedDocumentcategory. These default categories allow users with unrestricted access to its respective type.
You can create category rules that apply to your application's work classes to define access privileges for one or more attachment types.
