Purpose

Use application rules to define an ordered set of RuleSets and versions that together identify the parts of a Process Commander application. In addition, application rules relate the application's objectives, use cases, and actors to objects created as part of the Direct Capture of Objectives capabilities.

If you are creating an application for users of a composite portal who may enter work objects:

• Choose a Short Name that is meaningful to users and distinguishes this application from others they may use. (The Short Name appears in the application selector on the User portal.)
• Follow the restrictions mentioned for the Details tab.

Access groups can reference application rules. In addition, application rules can reference other application rules.

Access

Use the Rules by Type Explorer to list all the application rules that are available to you.

Category

Application rules are instances of the Rule-Application class. They are part of the Application Definition category.
