Purpose

Unit Test Suite rules identify an access group and a collection of test cases and their RuleSets. You can create a unit test suite that includes all the test cases for a specific rule type or you can select individual rules and specify the sequence in which to run them.

After you create a unit test suite, you can schedule it to be run from the Test Manager portal or from the test suite form. An agent activity in the Pega-ProCom agent checks for test suite requests every five minutes and runs those that are due. When the agent activity finishes running a unit test suite, it sends an email message with the results to the person who scheduled the request.

For information about enabling Automated Testing, see the Pega Developer Network article25094 Enabling Automated Testing. When Automated Testing is enabled:

• Use the Rules by Type explorer to create test suites by selecting SysAdmin > Unit Test Suite.
• To run a unit test suite, select Run >Test Manager from the menu and use the Schedule tab to add the suite to the run schedule. Or open a test suite rule and click the Run toolbar button to schedule the test suite.
