About HTML rules

An HTML rule has two key parts:

Select HTML from the Technical category.

Applies To

SmartPromptSelect the name of the class that this rule applies, the default source of property values for the JSP tags or directives in the rule.

In the unusual situation that this rule is to be referenced in an activity but without an associated clipboard page, enter @baseclass as the class name.

TipIf this rule is to be referenced only with the <pega:include > JSP tag (or include directive) and has no associated page, do not create an HTML rule. For better performance, create an HTML fragment rule rather than an HTML rule.

The classes you can enter here may depend on the RuleSet you select. On the Restrictions tab of the Class form, a class rule may limit rules applying to that class to belong to one of an explicit list of RuleSets.

Stream Name

Choose a name for this HTML rule. Begin the name with a letter and follow the rules for an identifier. See How to enter identifiers.
