The Discovery Map is a graphical design tool integrated into the Processes tab of the Application Profiler and Application Accelerator. Use a Discovery Map to provide a high-level presentation of steps in the starting business flows in the application including the subflows and alternate paths.

The end result is a visual inventory of processing steps that is used by the Accelerator as the basis for creating the draft starting flow diagrams in the application.

In the Discovery Map:

• Steps are color coded to visually indicate a flow shape and whether the step is a subflow (blue), performed by a human operator (green), automatically (yellow) or an interface (red).
• The primary path moves from left to right across the top of the map
• Sub flows are displayed top to bottom from a step in the primary path
• Alternate paths in the primary path or sub flow are indicated by two red bars between steps
• Use cases and Requirements are added and aligned with the individual steps
