Keyboard shortcuts

A keyboard shortcut is a multikey option that performs an operation that otherwise requires a mouse action. For example, by default the CTRL + T key combination starts the Tracer tool.

Select Preferences from the Designer Studio profile menu to extend or override the default keyboard shortcuts. PROJ-340

For application users, keyboard shortcuts differ from the Designer Studio versions. For example, the ALT+F key combination moves focus to the first input field on a form. See Pega Developer Network article PDNPRKB-25264 How to change the default home keyboard shortcut.

You can also use a shortcut key to execute a button, without requiring use of the mouse.

Shortcut keys are sometimes called "hot keys".

Report Browser shortcuts

XXXXXXXXXXX REVISE FOR V6.1SP1 -GRP-13609

The Report Browser allows managers to organize the reports available to them based on categories they name and organize. By clicking a shortcut (a named link) they can retrieve and run the report. Shortcuts in the Report Browser can execute both V5 reports (summary view rules and list view rules) and report definition rules.

Report browser shortcuts are instances of the Data-Report-Shortcut class. See About Report Shortcut data instances.

Saved rule shortcuts

A shortcut is a saved URL value that simplifies testing and retesting activities and V5 reports in your application. Using such shortcuts, you can avoid the need to repeatedly enter parameter values through typing or pasting.

You can define up to 1,000 personal shortcuts, assign memorable names to them, and organize them into categories. C-2335 5.2
