This rule type is deprecated for new development. Beginning with V5.5, use harness rules , not form rules created with the FormBuilder tool, for rule forms.
For examples, the Property, Access Group, Operator ID, and Service Level forms are based on harness rules. GRP-261
C-508 Use a form rule to define an HTML and XML form used for data object or rule entry and validation.
The form rule type contains a rule for each concrete class derived from the Rule- base class or Data- base class that has an associated HTML form. The form, when extracted as a static file on the Process Commander server, supports rule and data form operations.
When you save this form rule, Process Commander deletes any previous HTM file on the Web server corresponding to that name, directory, RuleSet, and version.
Form rules are referenced in Class rules for concrete Rule- and Data- classes. The first time a requestor asks for this form, Process Commander extracts the file into an appropriate Web server directory on the server.
Use the Rules Explorer to list all form rules available to you.
Form rules are instances of the Rule-File-Form class. They are part of the SysAdmin category.
Beginning with V5.5, some rule forms (and data object forms) are defined harness rules, as an alternative to form rules created with the FormBuilder tool. For example, the Property, Access Group, Operator ID, and Service Level forms are based on harness rules. This capability is reserved to Pegasystems. GRP-261
