Designer Studio — Using keyboard shortcuts

While working in the Designer Studio, you can use these keyboard shortcuts as alternatives to mouse actions:

• When navigating or completing rule forms or data forms
• While updating a flow with Visio
• While interacting with user forms (if opened from the Designer Studio).

These tables show the default shortcut settings. You can change these settings, or disable all keyboard shortcuts, from the Preferences menu item in the Profile menu.

Keyboard shortcuts are not available while working in the WorkUser, Worker, Manager, or WorkManager portals.

Case is not significant when an alphabet letter appears in a shortcut. Type either the uppercase or lowercase letter.

If your workstation uses Internet Explorer 7, the default Designer Studio shortcut assignments CTRL+N and CTRL+T override two built-in IE7 functions (open a new window and open a new tab). This is by design, opening a new window or new tab (with an identical PRPC URL as the address) is not supported.

Toolbar shortcuts

CTRL+ALT+A	Save As	Start the Save As function to copy the current form with a different key. Equivalent to the Save As toolbar button ().
CTRL + D	Delete	Delete the current form. Equivalent to the Delete toolbar button ().
CTRL+ALT+Z	RuleData	Start the RuleData function, to display the current form in XML source format. Equivalent to the RuleData toolbar button ().
CTRL + R	Run	Start the Run function, to test the current rule. Equivalent to the Run toolbar button ().
CTRL + X	Cut	Cut the selection. Equivalent to the Cut toolbar button ().
CTRL + C	Copy	Copy the selection. Equivalent to the Copy toolbar button ().
CTRL + V	Paste	Paste the selection. Equivalent to the Paste toolbar button ().
CTRL + L	Launch	Start the Launch function, to open an additional window. Equivalent to the Launch toolbar button ().
CTRL + H	Help	Open the help system for the current form. Equivalent to the Help toolbar button ().
CTRL + U	Refresh	Refresh the Internet Explorer window. Equivalent to the Refresh button () on the Tab bar.
CTRL + E	Close	Close the current form. Equivalent to the Close toolbar button ().
CTRL+ALT+P	Preview	Preview the presentation defined by the current form. Equivalent to the Preview toolbar button ().
CTRL+ALT+C	Check In Check Out	Check in (or check out) the current rule. Equivalent to the Check In () or Check Out () toolbar button, whichever is enabled.
