A funnel chart presents the progressive reduction of data as it passes from one phase to another. A typical use is to show sales conversion rates: the broadest part of the funnel shows the original number of leads, the next narrower part shows qualified leads, and so on down to leads that are closed and become sales.
Depicting data in this way shows graphically where the most significant reductions are taking place, which may inform corporate strategy.
You can add a funnel chart to a summary-type report definition to clearly present the report's data. You can add the chart in the Report Definition rule form directly, or through the Report Editor.
