Create a new organization data instance by selecting Organization from the Organization category.

An organization data instance has one key:

Organization

Enter an identifier for your organization, such as BUXR. Use only letters, digits, ampersand, underscores, and period characters.

Organization identifiers are limited to 32 characters.

As a best practice, limit the organization name to four characters — the length of many company stock ticker symbols. When you use the Application Express, the organization name becomes one segment of several class names.

You can also create an organization instance using the organization chart, available on the Chart tab and on the Organizational Chart gadget on the Organization landing page.
