Push notifications in an Android mobile app

In order to enable push notifications for your Android custom app, you need to first obtain and then set the following parameters in the certificate set tied to the Android app:

• Sender ID – a Google Cloud Services (GCM) identifier used to authenticate an Android custom mobile app with the Android Push Notification Integration services.
• Server API Key – a key used by the server to authenticate with the Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) services.

In order to obtain these values, you must log into the Google Developer Console website, select an existing project or create a new project, and then enable the Google Cloud Messaging for Android in the APIs section.
